We work in partnership with local NGOs in human trafficking hotspots to increase their capacity and impact. Our model is to work with one Field Partner at a time to help them achieve self-sufficiency as soon as possible. About the Role
We are seeking a part-time, passionate, and motivated Relationship Manager with previous non-profit donor management experience to join our team.
In this mission-critical role, you will work with current and potential major donors and other strategic partners to: manage and nurture donor relationships; identify funding areas aligned with partner interests and motivations; identify and cultivate new and existing leads; develop personalised donor journeys and manage them through the donor pipeline; increase annual fundraising; and provide relevant servicing to ensure an excellent donor experience and ongoing giving where possible.
Reporting to the Managing Director, and guided by the Executive Team, the Relationship Manager will assist in developing the business development strategy, and executing strategic plans to maximise partnerships and increase major gifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of existing major donors, nurturing relationships through regular and personalised contact via different channels (phone, email, Zoom, in-person).
- Identify, qualify and cultivate new and potential major donors, both individuals and businesses, to grow annual revenue
- Develop personalised and tailored donor journeys, provide timely servicing and program/project updates, and manage donors through the donor pipeline and life cycle
- Assist in the development of a bequests strategy and framework, and work with existing major donors to secure gifts in wills
- Record all interactions/activities in CRM and work with the Operations team to ensure all data is kept up to date
- Utilise CRM data and reporting to identify and assess leads
- Assist in coordinating Give Freedom events, and attend networking and fundraising events as required
- Coordinate and facilitate presentations for groups, including businesses, churches, schools, and community groups
- Assist in the development and implementation of business development plans, including fostering relationships with and developing pitches for philanthropic foundations and grant-funding bodies
- Ensure all partnership activities are in alignment with partnership and marketing policies, the strategic business plan, core messaging framework, and style guide
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team on fundraising strategy and initiatives and to develop relevant pitches, proposals, and presentations as needed for leads, major donors, and partners
- Work collaboratively with the Program team to understand program/project implementation in order to effectively communicate donor impact and develop compelling proposals and pitches.
- Actively assist in implementing improvement structures to streamline manual processes
About You:
We are looking for a people-focused, proactive, and self-driven Relationship Manager with a passion for protecting human rights and ending human trafficking.
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience in donor relationship management, or similar/related role, in the not-for-profit fundraising sector
- Excellent communication and networking skills, with an aptitude for building rapport and fostering positive relationships
- Ability to communicate with and effectively engage a diverse range of stakeholder groups
- Current knowledge of fundraising and philanthropy landscape in Australia and understanding of best practice relationship-based fundraising
- Demonstrated success in securing high value donations
- Knowledge of CRM systems and practices
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- A tertiary qualification in fundraising, business, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field is highly desirable
The Details
This is a permanent part-time (15 hrs per week) position, with the potential for hours to increase in the future. As our team works part-time this role would suit an experienced candidate looking for flexibility around other commitments, as the specifics of days/hours worked can be negotiated or worked flexibly as required.
Give Freedom International is based in Newcastle NSW, with our team working remotely/from home. This role will be NSW based, with a strong preference for Newcastle/Hunter based applicants. Central Coast and Sydney based applicants also considered.
Some domestic travel and weekend hours may be required for this role.
