The current goal of Give Freedom International is to complete 3 Angels Nepal’s education project in Pokhara. The Role
We are seeking expressions of interests for a high capacity Partnership Manager with previous non-profit experience to join our team.
The Partnership Manager contributes a critical overarching role in taking our Give Freedom International brand and our core products to current and prospective new donors. Partnerships Managers are responsible for developing, supporting, maintaining and servicing positive relationships with Give Freedom International donors—predominantly major donors—to ensure supporter satisfaction and ongoing giving.
Donor management—the ongoing relational contact with donors with the aim of growing to understand their interests, needs, wants and opportunities relating to their support or prospective support of Give Freedom’s work—is a core part of this role. This will be achieved through building a network of donor opportunities through the implementation of best practice major gift relationship fundraising.
This role requires strong sales and communication skills, confident public speaking and presentation skills, aptitude for fostering positive relationships and a level of administration ability. We are seeking a Partnership Manager who is confident and is professional, warm, and authentic in nature.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Donor Management: cultivate existing and prospective donor networks with the goal maximising their giving capacity. Maintain a donor centred approach, deliver a high level of relational amanget and supporter experience to and build a mature portfolio of major donors.
- Internal Communication: Partnerships Managers are responsible for providing donor feedback to the Marketing Department to ensure the ongoing improvement of promotional, engagement and servicing materials.
- Administration: work with our operations officer to analyse current donor leads and track relationship networks within our CRM system.
- Leverage networks: use your existing network and connections, alongside existing Give Freedom connections, to grow our presence and reputation in the charity philanthropic communities across Australia.
- Attend events: represent Give Freedom International at regular network events and potential major donor trips to Pokhara Nepal
- Represent Give Freedom in alignment with our core values, code of conduct and represent our branding and marketing material effectively and ethically.
- Assist in developing the partnerships area within Give Freedom International
This role requires an in-depth working knowledge of the work of Give Freedom and the holistic understanding of all of our products to be able to share the impact of our work to our current and prospective supporters.
Key Responsibilities
The Partnership Manager is responsible for:
Donor Management
- Cultivate existing major donor leads
- Gather new major donor leads
Networking
- Personal one to one meetings with current and potential donors as needed
- Attend events as needed—fundraising events, school presentations, church presentations and other networking events etc as needed
- Be available at critical giving times to deliver a strong ask e.g. end of financial year
Partnership team development
As this is newly developed role—ideally the right candidate would be able to:
- Assist the Managing Director to recruit and train both paid and volunteer partnership managers
- Assist Managing Director in system and policy development of the partnerships department within Give Freedom International ie. elevant donor lifecycle actions (i.e. lapsed or at-risk donors)
- Assist the Managing Director in partnership department strategy
- Assist in the identification of donor lifecycle engagement points
Core details
Give Freedom International is the early stages of business development—with the partnership manager role being a newly created role. As we are in the formative stages of business development we are seeking expression of interest for this role and are open-minded to hours, days, skills and type of commitment a prospective applicant may be able to provide.
As our team works part-time—prominently across Tuesday to Thursday—this role would suit a highly experienced candidate looking for flexibility around other commitments such as business or family as the specifics of days/hours worked can be negotiated or worked flexibly across the week. The allocated hours assigned to the role may be increased over time for the right candidate—and would increase in key giving times such as End of Financial Year and Christmas.
We are specifically seeking an applicant based in Newcastle, Sydney or Canberra as attending partnership opportunities in person with prospective networks (ie. businesses) is a critical part of this role.
This is a sole trader (ABN required) contract position, which is paid at a fixed hourly rate for hours worked. Although this role is a contract position, the intention is this is an ongoing long term position that is reviewed annually.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Required qualifications
Certificate or Bachelor degree in sales, communication, marketing, business or a related field—or relevant on the job experience.
Desired qualifications

Existing business networks
Strong major giving experience with a preference for some capital campaign experience
Experience and expertise in developing relationships with major donors, and crafting, implementing major donor strategies and communication plans
Demonstrated success in closing gift solicitations and understanding of best practice relationship-based fundraising
Experience
3+ years of experience in similar or related role—preferably in a non-profit organisation

The Role
We are seeking a high capacity Communications Manager with previous non-profit experience to join our team. The role oversees all aspects of internal and external communication strategies to ensure a clear, concise and cohesive message through all of Give Freedom’s communications. This includes—digital and print media, campaigns, general branding, product development, website and internal communications.
This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking and leadership capacity. Experience in the not-for-profit sector—particularly major donor engagement—is highly desirable. We are seeking a Communications Manager who is confident with a professional, corporate writing style that is also warm, authentic and inspirational.
Key Responsibilities
The Communications Manager is responsible for:
- Clear, concise, cohesive and strategically responsive messaging throughout all of Give Freedom’s communications
- Communications quality control
- Continuing to develop Give Freedom’s voice in the sector
- Continuing to develop Give Freedom’s brand
- Ensuring communication effectively engages with the target audience
- Taking the lead for communications when working collaboratively within the marketing team
This is a 2-3 days per week, sole trader (ABN required) contract position, which is paid at a fixed hourly rate for hours worked. This role would suit a highly experienced candidate looking for flexibility around other commitments such as family, as the specifics of days/hours worked can be negotiated. This role can be undertaken anywhere in Australia from home, or from the Newcastle office if preferred.

- Development and execution of general communications plan (i.e. supporter engagement during non-campaign times)
- Copywriting for supporter engagement e.g. direct emails
- Copywriting for social media
- Copywriting for major donor product development and servicing

To be successful in this role you will have
