As part of Give Freedom International’s funding approach policy we allow a portion of all Program Funds to be used for Emergency Funding.

We do this because unfortunately, Nepal is highly vulnerable to major environmental and climate disasters. In the past we have used this Emergency Fund to support 3 Angels Nepal and their extended community through emergency responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic, earthquakes and political unrest that has increased immediate demand for protection and support for women and children in Nepal.

The recent landslides and flash flooding in Nepal have been catastrophic. While we are beyond grateful to share our partners at 3 Angels Nepal are safe, the disaster has had a major impact on their work, with critical demand for community support.

Give Freedom International has provided $25,000 in urgent Emergency Funding to support 3 Angels Nepal in providing:

• Emergency food and essential household supplies
• Temporary shelter, tents and accommodation support
• Medical assistance and essential health support
• Psychosocial counselling and trauma-informed care
• Protection and support for vulnerable women and children
  

When disasters like this strike the area of Nepal, the impact is felt everywhere, yet women and children are disproportionately left vulnerable. 

We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with 3 Angels Nepal to ensure they have the support they need to continue their work, and help those affected by this disaster.
