Our 2024 Christmas Appeal

Dec 4, 2024 | News

Give Freedom has launched an appeal to help give the gift of education to at-risk children in Nepal.

Our Christmas Appeal is focusing on raising funds for our Field Partner, 3 Angels Nepal, to fund Stage One of The Pokhara Project. Their facilities are desperately in need of an upgrade to continue their vital work within the community.

The Pokhara Project will be a fit-for-purpose, self-owned, sustainable building development that provides trafficked women and children with everything they need to thrive, including a school and the life-changing gift of education.

Classrooms will create space for hundreds of children, from preschool to year 12, to attend lessons six days a week. Importantly, the students will be a mix of previously trafficked children, those at risk of being trafficked, and fee-paying children from the surrounding community breaking down caste barriers.

But the education component of The Pokhara Project is so much more than just the school. This project will also include vocational training facilities for victims of, and those at risk of, human trafficking, and a medical centre which will not only provide healthcare but health education programs to the wider community.

If we raise $90,000, we’ll be able to build a classroom for primary school-aged children, giving them a chance to receive an education and lessening their susceptibility to human trafficking.

If we raise $125,000, we’ll be able to build a hospitality centre which will include a kitchen, dining hall, handwashing station, and drinking water fountains.

If we raise $200,000, we’ll be able to build a staff and administration room and a toilet block, providing access to appropriate sanitation facilities and for teaching staff to meaningfully prepare their lessons.

This Christmas, we invite you to consider giving to The Pokhara Project so that we can free, restore, educate, and empower countless more trafficking survivors.

Gifts made during this appeal will go directly to supporting Stage 1 of The Pokhara Project.

UPDATE: Together, we raised over $215,000!

Thanks to your generosity, we’re excited to share we will be able to move towards commencing the first stage of construction for The Pokhara Project this year! Thank you!
