Our Year in Review 2022
Our vision to see a world free from human trafficking remained at the forefront of everything we did this year. It was a year of incredible growth for Give Freedom, so let’s take a moment to look back over the past twelve months and celebrate everything we accomplished together.
“Every accomplishment, large and small, was made possible because of the selfless generosity of people like you.”
Steve and Robyn Raymond
Celebrating Success
Our Christmas Appeal focused on raising funds for the women’s safe haven and raised $84,773, and our End of Financial Year Appeal introduced the vulnerable children’s homes. This was our most successful to date, raising $221,579! Thank you to everyone who shared our stories and gave generously.
We have made real progress in implementing the first three core areas of our strategic business plan and we are now looking to the future. Click here to dive into the details of our strategic growth.
“I endeavour to lead with respect and integrity while holding strategic excellence and robustness at our core.”
Kath has been a key driver behind most things happening at Give Freedom–including the new look and strategic direction. Find out more about where she has come from and what makes her tick.
In May 2022 we launched our most significant strategic milestone to date–the Give Freedom Foundation. Foundation members are the bedrock of our organisation, investing tax-deductible seed funding over multiple years to accelerate organisational growth, build strategic capacity and enable greater support for women and children living in trafficking hotspots.
We recently invited our first foundation members to formally join us, and pledges have been secured up to 2025. Foundation funding has enabled us to implement a number of measures designed to realise our goal of fully funding The Pokhara Project as soon as possible, they include:
- Engage meaningfully with our current supporters
- Create high quality, informative campaigns
- Invest in database and project management systems
- Recruit experienced professionals
Our New Online Resource
In January we launched our online education resource for people to learn more about human trafficking and modern slavery.
Your Impact
This financial year has been one of significant growth for us, with an impressive 29% increase in overall revenue. It is an extraordinary achievement which sits within our strategic direction while positioning us for a future where we will see The Pokhara Project become a reality. All this in turn helps us achieve our vision of seeing people freed, restored, educated and empowered.

Burning Twig
This year we collaborated with a Pokhara-based media organisation for our End of Financial Year Campaign. The digital arts company was behind the production of multiple videos and fresh images we will be using to promote The Pokhara Project.
The Pokhara Project
Give Freedom’s focus remains on supporting 3 Angels Nepal to become self-sufficient by building them a long-term home. The Pokhara Project is a sustainable building project that includes everything 3 Angels Nepal needs to fight human trafficking through rescue, prevention and rehabilitation. Women's Safe Haven
The women’s safe haven is a place of refuge, a place of healing, of understanding and importantly a place of shared sisterhood, where rescued women can recover from their trauma. Read more about the safe haven here.
Vulnerable Children's Homes
Vulnerable children’s homes are for girls and boys who have been rescued from trafficking, or require protection from high-risk settings. You can read more about them here.
