Our Year in Review 2023
We continue to partner with communities at risk of human trafficking to deliver life-changing and sustainable development projects. Our current mission is to complete The Pokhara Project. Let’s look back over the past twelve months and celebrate everything we have accomplished together.
“Our long-term joint building development—The Pokhara Project—remains our core focus in this partnership between Give Freedom International and 3 Angels Nepal.”

Recently, we have been in a formative business and marketing, creation and development period–transitioning from grassroots into a growing Australian-based charity.

International Development
International development refers to the collective efforts made by countries, organisations and individuals to improve the quality of life and enhance the socio-economic conditions of less developed regions.
International development includes a set of guidelines intrinsic to the sector and recognised by many charities. These guidelines shape best practice and sit at the heart of everything we do.

The launch of the Give Freedom Foundation in May 2022 was borne from a strategic focus to see every dollar gifted by our supporters work harder and go further.
The Foundation has made this possible and launching it was a monumental milestone for us. Since its debut, the Give Freedom Foundation has gone from strength to strength. It remains the bedrock of our organisation and we would not exist without the continued support of its members.
And because the Foundation also powers our 100% Giving Model, we guarantee that every dollar gifted by everyday supporters goes to the Field.
Human Trafficking: The Methods and Interventions
Human trafficking is a diabolical trade governed by a sophisticated and complex network of underground criminals. In Nepal, around 35,000 people are trafficked every year with women and girls making up the majority of victims.
Our Field Partner works on the front line in Nepal intercepting and rescuing women and children from the clutches of traffickers. But how do they spot traffickers and what do they do to prevent the vulnerable from being snatched away?
Our Field Partnership
This year, we further cemented our strong partnership with 3 Angels Nepal.
Despite the financial difficulties caused by the prolonged global pandemic and escalating global unrest, 3 Angels Nepal continues to make a powerful difference in the Pokhara region.
“Your efforts are making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. I believe that together, we can create a world where exploitation and slavery have no place.”

Our Visit to Nepal
Give Freedom founders and directors Steve and Robyn Raymond, along with managing director Kath Kable and marketing director Shelly McKewin, visited Nepal in November for important partnership meetings and to strengthen ties between the two organisations. They saw firsthand the transformative work of 3 Angels Nepal through rescuing and rehabilitating vulnerable women and children.

“I was amazed by the incredible work 3 Angels Nepal do. To stand on the land for The Pokhara Project–to see the enormity of it and realise the grandness of our vision and what their future will be–took my breath away.”

THE
POKHARA

The Pokhara Project is a sustainable building development designed to increase the capacity and impact of their established anti-human trafficking work.
It will include a self-funding school, women’s safe haven, vulnerable children’s homes, a community medical centre and vocational training facilities, all designed to bring new life and hope back into the lives of those who were trafficked.

Riverworks are Underway
On the ground, important riverworks to stabilise the banks of the Seti River ahead of The Pokhara Project development began in April 2023. This vital step is reinforcing the 250-metre stretch of river adjacent to the Pokhara Project site and will form a key part of the site’s sturdy, earthquake-proof foundations. Nepal-based construction engineers hope to complete these riverworks very soon.
Meeting Urgent Needs
100% of your funding goes to the field, and a small amount is allocated to emergencies so that when urgent needs arise, we are ready to respond.
New Whiteboards
Your generosity equipped the 3 Angels Nepal school with five new digital whiteboards and projectors. This purchase was in response to a growing need for improved technology at the school and has already benefited students.
“The whiteboards really focus my concentration,” said a pupil at the school. “I can see the lesson and writings clearly, and the audio and visual materials the teacher uses on them are great to help me learn and understand.”
New Toilet Facilities
“The new toilet block is a big relief for the students and teachers. They are not having to wait as long and it is safer for them to have separate male and female toilets.”
– Ramesh Pandey, School Principal
Our Emergency Appeal
Give Freedom launched an emergency appeal to help trafficked children in Nepal. Our end of financial year campaign focused on raising urgent funds for our Field Partner, 3 Angels Nepal, who desperately needed help keeping vulnerable children safe, nurtured and fed.
“I want to thank you for supporting the Give Freedom emergency appeal,” said 3 Angels Nepal founder and CEO, Rajendra. “It means the world to us to know there are people out there who are helping us keep these vulnerable children safe.”
Āśā House Fully Funded!
Last Christmas we asked for gifts to fund Āśā House, a home for girls under 12 years old who have been rescued from, or are at risk of, human trafficking. Thanks to everyone’s immense support, this home is now fully funded, meaning children will have a safe place to call home for generations to come.
This new home, the second to be fully funded, will protect and boost the capacity of our Field Partner’s anti-trafficking work for the long term.

Your Impact
The past 12 months have seen significant disbursement to program with commencement of the riverworks alongside much-needed disaster and emergency relief support. We also received more gifts to the Give Freedom Foundation than pledged—a wonderful achievement!
We are forever thankful to our generous supporters who have championed us through another significant year.
