Our Year in Review 2025
The past 12 months have been some of the most expansive, challenging and fulfilling we’ve had yet. Alongside our partners, we revised construction plans to ensure the school can move onsite as quickly as possible, and thanks to your incredible generosity, in the 2024-25 financial year we raised enough funds to begin construction.

young people received anti-trafficking training through a youth-led awareness program that reached the army, police, schools and border security forces.

What Exactly Is Human Trafficking?
To be defined as trafficking, three elements must be present:
→ The Act – recruiting, transporting, or harbouring people
→ The Means – coercion, deception, or abuse of power
→ The Purpose – exploiting people for profit
Nepal is both a source and a transit country for human trafficking. Every year, thousands of people—mostly women and children—are trafficked across the open border into India or further abroad to the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Trafficking also happens within Nepal itself, as vulnerable families in rural villages are lured into cities with promises of work, education, or safety.
Last financial year marked the conclusion of our previous three-year strategic plan.
Looking ahead, the next two to three years will involve balancing our organisational growth with the implementation of the first stage of The Pokhara Project, with strategic focus in two central areas; Build and Reach. Hover over the diagram for more info and dive into the details here.

Our approach here at Give Freedom International has always been deeply rooted in locally led impact.
We know it’s the people who live with the challenges every day who know how to solve them best. That’s why we work on one, locally-led partnership at a time, standing alongside leaders who have a deep understanding of the culture, the risks, and the hopes of their own communities.
Right now, our partnership is with the inspiring team at 3 Angels Nepal, a not-for-profit organisation based in Pokhara, Nepal. As leaders in the anti-human trafficking movement they are at the forefront of effective solutions.

Being new to the role of Managing Director it was a great privilege to travel to Nepal to get a deeper understanding of the work Give Freedom International supports.
Being able to meet with Rajendra and Sarah, founders of 3 Angels Nepal, in person was truly inspirational. It’s hard to properly grasp the full scope of their work and depth of their impact until you’re on the ground.

Why Education is Critical to Ending Human Trafficking
On 10 June 2025 we held a free webinar to raise awareness of human trafficking, and give audiences exclusive insights from the front line on why education is critical in breaking the cycle and creating lasting change.
Moderated by Give Freedom International’s Program Manager, Hayley Saxby, the powerful webinar was an opportunity for supporters to hear directly from those working on the frontlines, and to see how their giving is part of creating lasting solutions.

The Pokhara Project: Construction Update
To ensure the school remains open and core operations continue, we made the decision to prioritise three urgent buildings, which will allow the school and essential administrative functions to move onsite as soon as possible.
Thanks to your generosity, construction on the first three priority buildings will soon begin. There is still a long road ahead, but together we are turning vision into reality and building a future of safety, freedom, and hope.
